About Us

PASTORS was formed in 1999 as a 501C(3) Public/Private Partnership collaborative among various houses of worship initially focused on revitalization and stabilization of the housing stock in the City of Charleston’s Enterprise Community. In 2012, the organization expanded to Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. PASTORS has worked across a number of jurisdictions successfully completing projects in Charleston County, City of North Charleston, and the Town of Hollywood. Now, working on a state-wide basis, PASTORS is active in Greenville, Orangeburg, and Columbia.

Our track record includes Homeownership Projects, Owner-Occupied Rehab Projects, Multi-Family Rental New Construction, and Rental Rehabilitation Projects.

Many of the rental rehabilitation projects were properties owned by represented member churches with PASTORS serving as the contractor developer. PASTORS has also completed Multi- Family Rental projects for its own portfolio as well as Veterans Apartments for Wallingford Presbyterian.

Message From The Chairman

The Church must find new ways to close the racial wealth gap and ownership of commercial real estate is one answer. Our development advisory services are aimed at boosting real estate development projects for minority faith-based organizations. These projects are designed to foster both empowerment and economic opportunity.

For 23 years PASTORS has provided advisory services and access to capital for faith-based community development projects. Acting as a developer and facilitator, we work with local governments and community-based organizations to help churches create and implement unique development solutions. PASTORS provides the expertise to solve localized challenges, by implementing catalytic development or a comprehensive redevelopment initiative. We have demonstrated expertise in balancing affordable workforce and market rate housing and creating sustainable revenue streams for the church through economic development activities. Having begun in the city of Charleston, we have a proven concept and have expanded state- wide to spread the message of Revitalization Empowerment, and Development.
